I grew up in possession of a tremendous love of words.
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I utilize words in a manner which is wholly uneconomical. Which means that I write (and talk) a lot. Always have. Likely always will. Luckily this trait tends to be a requirement for storytellers.
My “happy places” usually involved books; in my hands, on shelves, in trees, under covers in the dead of night and in shops, etc. If I was happy, it was largely because books (or words) were involved.
As the years passed, I became a teacher, a wife, a retail manager, a retail buyer, a district manager, a mother, a business owner, a divorcée, a wife (again), a mother (again), a homeschooler, a writer, a photographer, a journalist, a copywriter and an executive for an online company.
Through every experience my love of words remained.
This website came about due (in part) to that abiding love of words. The other factor in the creation of this website was recognizing that my years of working for others are at an end. That work does not serve me, nor does it allow me to serve others. What is important to me is to utilize words in an effort to improve the world one word at a time.
Some may think this an improbable task. However, many unlikely adventures began with the words “Once Upon a Time…“
And so, I begin.
